English Obsession

Since it has been getting colder, I am really getting back into the Harry Potter books and movies. Does this seem strange? I think that it is the mystery and snow that are in each book. And something comforting too, of the very English mannerisms (which I adore). Check out MuggleNet for lots of clips of the new movie (hooray).

I have been really fascinated with the English response to WWII and the life of wartime Britain. The BBC has a great website about this topic and I also watched the 1940s house, which was a BBC reality TV show about the same thing.

I also love watching The Secret of Roan Inish, which is a great story of a girl in Ireland after WWII and the search for her lost brother.

It is really a great movie; beuatifully shot, a great story, enchanting , and actually good performances by the child actors (thank you so much).
