The perfect blanket

This is a wonderful vintage baby blanket that I bought from Knittin' Kitten (which is a great thrift store for crafters). It is the perfect size for a baby or for me (since I am the current owner and it really is too cute to give away), at 36" wide by 50" long. The edges have become a bit tattered, so I think that I will need to add new binding. Currently the edges and back are a baby blue, but I was thinking of binding the edges in the cherry red - for a nice contrast.

I have also been toying with the idea of creating a few blanket this size for one of the many upcoming babies. But I can't say much more until they are actually made and ready for the shower . . .
